Why do we try so hard to find happiness when it is right here within us all the time. We are the ones who make the decision to be happy, sad or just blah. Many of us feel that if we are happy and the people around us are not then it's not fair to them. What we should think is that the more we are happy then they will become happy too. Only You can make you happy it doesn't matte what a doctor, friend or partner does. External happiness only last a short while. Internal happiness comes from deep within, so once you feel it you will not want to go back. Don't feel guilty for being happy when others around you are miserable, it is not you fault, and it is not your job to fix it. You can talk to them and show them that only they can make themselves feel better. If they have deep depression the only way for them to move into happiness is to deal with what has put them in this spot. Talking about how they feel when certain things are going on around them can help them see the issue or for someone else to sense the problem. Once they see this, they can resolve it, one step at a time. It may not happen overnight, but take small steps in the direction of internal happiness and away from what hurts you will slowing and completely remove the issues from within.
